~ Course Discussion Lists ~

All of my students are encouraged to join either the Introduction to Literature (LIT 165) or the Basic Writing (ENG 020) discussion list (or both, if you've got a lot of online energy). In fact, I invite any person interested in either of these subjects to join the list. Frankly, I'm excited that I have the opportunity to make this kind of list available to you. My guess is that the more people who join, the more helpful it's likely to be.

How might joining a discussion list be helpful? Maybe it will, maybe it won't. But it is a place where you can post a question and hope to get an answer from your classmates or the instructor; it's a place where you can bouce ideas around and get your friends and classmates to express opinions they aren't comfortable expressing in the open air of the classroom. (Of course, rude, crude, or offensive material will be rigorously filtered by the moderator.)

It might be fun. The only way to find out is to try it.
