~ Online Forums ~

All of my students are encouraged to join either the Introduction to Literature (LIT 165) or the Effective Writing I (ENG 120) online forum (or both, if you've got a lot of online energy). In fact, I invite any person interested in either of these subjects to join the discussion. Frankly, I'm excited that I have the opportunity to make this kind of list available to you. The more people who join and check in regularly, the more helpful it's likely to be.

How might reading and posting messages to an online forum be helpful? Maybe it will, maybe it won't. But it is a place where you can post a question and hope to get an answer from your classmates or the instructor; it's a place where you can bouce ideas around and get your friends and classmates to express opinions they aren't comfortable expressing in the open air of the classroom. (Of course, rude, crude, or offensive material will be filtered.)

It might be fun. The only way to find out is to try it.
